Art Deco style “Airplane” bookends in marble and cast aluminum
Pair of black and silver bookends with orientable planes, typical of the art deco style.
The bases are heavy marble enough to hold books, cast aluminum planes with plastic propellers. The planes appear to be spitfires. Circa 1940.
The design of the planes and their supports has a very well rendered aerodynamic line.
The whole is in good condition but it should be noted a glued base, three barely visible micro-chips.
Dimensions: bases: H11xL13xW7, 8cm with the spitfires : H18xL17xD13cm.
