Art Deco Dinner Service by Wilhelm Wagenfeld in Fürstenberg Porcelain Ivory, Red and Gold, 123 pieces

Description

Art Deco Dinner Service by Wilhelm Wagenfeld in Porcelain from the Fürstenberg Manufacture in Ivory, Red and Gold, 123 pieces.

This model 0689 is quite similar to the model 639 created by Wilhelm Wagenfeld (1900-1990) in 1934 inspired by the Bauhaus spirit. The 639 model won the Gold Medal at the International Exhibition in Paris in 1937.

A table service from the 1930s, very modern for the time and timeless, as Wagenfeld wanted.

It is made of porcelain from the always famous German manufacturer Fürstenberg, elegant, without frills, chic but without ostentation. Fürstenberg has been synonymous with quality since 1747 and still exists today.

Material, functionality and design come together to create a unit with a harmonious silhouette. Wagenfeld designed the handles of the lids and pitchers in the shape of a disc and connected them to the object with functional short handles of classic elegance.

“Everything useful must be beautiful”

The ivory porcelain is simply decorated with a raspberry red band and a gold line or large gold areas matted with agate on the handles and buttons. This combination of ivory, red and gold colors is very harmonious.

The shapes are refined, balanced, modern and unique.

We are lucky to have 123 pieces and can put together a tailor-made service. Please contact us to talk about it.

Table plates, soup or salad plates, broth bowls, round and oblong dishes, vegetable dishes, tureen, coffee service and tea service make up this rare service.
