Fish Dinnerware Waechtersbach by Albin Müller 1906 for 12 people.
31 pieces produced by Waechtersbach Manufacture in Germany and designed the famous Albin Müller in 1906.
Glazed earthenware cream colour with a refined decor in a combination of gray and taupe. The outstanding finesse of the colouring is applied on the delicate relief of the contour of the plates and fish heads, scales and fins.
This design of the fish dinnerware was created by Albin Müller, renowned artist part of the Darmstadt Artist Colony. Part of the dinner service dates from then and part of it from the 1960’s when it was edited again by Waechtersbach Manufacture.
There are twelve large and twelve small plates in the shape of a flat fish. They are in good condition
The dinner set comprises five serving dishes : three long ones of different sizes, one fish tureen with a lid and two sauce boats that are particularly funky with the fish being upside down. One of the sauce boat doesn’t have its base (due to a break when fired) but is included as it remains beautiful and can be used as is.
All pieces are marked with Waechsterbach impressed blind marks and numbers for the early XXth century pieces production and the West Germany marks for the pieces produced in the 1960’s.
This is a rare find, exceptional to find so many pieces and offer a superb table decor. It is also very original and bring a smile when displayed for other dishes than fish!
Very careful packaging, insured to the value of the objects.
