Pirouett lamp with red glasses with a special aspect – Large model
Pirouett articulated table lamp, large model called ‘living room’.
Pirouett lamps were invented by Mr Jean Chavanis in Lyon in 1929 and produced until 1960.
This model was created in 1938. This lamp is made in chromed brass of excellent quality and its dark red glasses have a very unique material effect.
Ingenious and beautiful, this lamp consists of a base with a shaft in which the arm holding the projector slides to adjust the height and which can be tilted at the desired angle.
Its four-sided glass projector also tilts front to back and tilts slightly to the sides. This model with red lenses is very rare. It is the first that I have seen with lenses of this dark red color and the glass is like hatched.
A light that has a personality, a presence, while subtle as the art deco period did so well.
Its cast iron base gives it perfect stability, especially for changing positions.
The condition overall and of the chrome is remarkable.
Bakelite switch, rewired.
